Economic Policy For the Workers?Date: 06 June 2003
The South Coast Labour Council will be releasing a discussion paper next week entitled "Rethinking Australia's Economic Policy" which seeks to challenge the orthodoxy of economic thought that dominates the approach of both major political parties in this country. South Coast Labour Council Secretary, Arthur Rorris, said; "There is a lot of frustration within the union movement and the broader community with the lack of alternative policy development to challenge Howard and Costello's destructive economic agenda." "This paper seeks to ask some of the big questions and provoke discussion beyond the policy constraints that the major political parties have imposed on themselves. The discussion paper will be launched at a Seminar organised by the South Coast Labour Council on Thursday 12 June at the University of Wollongong from 2pm-4pm in Room 131, Building 40.
