Global comp for best union website

Date: 11 January 2004

LabourStart, the London-based global online trade union news service, today announced the beginning of voting for the seventh annual Labour Website of the Year competition.

The competition, first held in late 1997, is a unique event which highlights the growing use of the Internet by the world's trade unions -- and the growing sophistication of trade union websites.

In last year's competition, 6,477 votes were cast for nearly 330 different websites. The winning site was Workers Online from Sydney, Australia.

Voting ends on 31 January 2004 and the winner will be announced the following day.
