Timor Chubb workers need our supportDate: 16 January 2004
LHMU members and supporters are backing East Timor security guards and cleaners, working at the World Bank offices in Dili, by taking a few seconds to send off a protest note to management in the USA and Australia. This letter-writing campaign is part of a global initiative to send protest notes to Chubb Security in the USA and Australia and show that these workers in this newly created island state are not isolated.

Pass the hat aroundA number of Chubb Security sites across Australia have indicated they want to pass the hat around and collect funds for the East Timorese workers struggling to get their Chubb jobs back.The ACTU aid agency - Apheda. - has set up a special appeal fund to help these workers. If you want to help at your workplace contact your LHMU organiser or the local branch office who can arrange for tax deductible donations to be sent thru to Apheda.
