Workers give Hockey stick

Centrelink workers take action

Centrelink workers take action

Human Services Minister Joe Hockey is drawing fire from workers in a number of his own departments.

The CPSU is calling on union members and supporters to send online protests to help resolve these disputes.

Centrelink: In Centrelink staff are into their third week of rolling stoppages over stalled pay negotiations. In response management have banned access to the CPSU website. Outstanding issues for Centrelink staff include:

  • a fair pay rise (with no strings attached)
  • limits on employees' flexibility over start and finish times
  • scheduling
  • moving conditions from the agreement into unenforceable policy
  • redeployment arrangements

What you can do: Send an online protest in support of  Centrelink workers

CRS Australia: CRS Australia staff help thousands of Australians with injuries and disabilities rebuild their lives and re-enter the workforce. Despite their high quality work, CRS Australian staff are significantly underpaid compared to workers in the State sector and other parts of the Human Service portfolio.

As a result of this inequity, CRS Australia is finding it hard to attract and retain high quality staff. Unless the issue is addressed staff feel services to their clients may suffer. CPSU has been campaigning for pay equity for CRS staff for several months and we need your support to win a better deal.

What you can do:  send an online protest letter in support of CRS Australia staff  http://www.cpsu.org.au/campaigns/CRS05/protest/index.html

Thanks for your support.
