FOSTERing workplace discontentDate: 18 July 2007
Fosters Yatala Brewery is taking advantage of John Howard's extreme and unfair industrial laws to ignore the wishes of it's workers - makers of iconic Australian beers such as VB and Fosters. The LHMU, ETU and AMWU, have been attempting to negotiate a collective agreement with the company, but negotiations have stalled. The company does not want the union to be involved in the agreement.

LHMU Queensland Secretary, Ron Monaghan said this shows what Howard's laws are really designed to do. "This is a prime example of workers not having any choice under the Howard legislation. They have chosen a union agreement with fair wages and conditions and the employer is not even prepared to consider their choice,"Ron Monaghan said.
Don't let Fosters ignore the workforce.
