Paul Keating, Not the MusicalDate: 14 August 2007
The man who turned APEC from vision into reality, former Prime Minister Paul Keating, will give a public lecture hosted by the Evatt Foundation on "APEC and its Pan Pacific Template" in Sydney at the Seymour Centre on Thursday 23 August. Paul Keating is not only one of the major figures in recent Australian political and economic history; he was also a major player in the creation of APEC. Federal Treasurer from 1983 to 1991 and Prime Minister of Australia from 1991 until 1996, Mr Keating took a decisive role in the establishment of the Asia Pacific Economic Co-operation (APEC) forum, initiating its annual leaders' meeting. In lead up to the meeting of APEC leaders in Sydney on 8-9 September, the Evatt Foundation proudly presents an address by the Hon. Paul J. Keating. lecture will be resented in the Seymour Centre on Thursday 23 August, commencing at 6 pm. Tickets are $32 or $22 for concession and Evatt members.
