Telstra workers Wednesday walk-out

Telstra workers have "downed tools" for 24 hours today as part of their industrial action campaign to win a new enterprise agreement.

The rally begins at 10AM this morning at 35 Collins Street, Melbourne, and it will be used as an opportunity for Telstra workers to publicly celebrate the departure of former CEO Trujillo and former Chair McGauchie.

It will also be an opportunity to send a clear message to the new CEO Mr Thodey and the new Chairperson Ms. Livingstone, that it is time for real change in employee/management relations.

Telstra workers will also take the opportunity to establish the "Telstra Workers' Headquarters" which will be a novel mobile headquarters for Telstra workers to protest around, and to use to publicise their cause in an ongoing way.

Telstra Workers' Headquarters will be established in Exhibition Street, Melbourne.

Telstra workers will march from 35 Collins Street to Exhibition Street to formally open their mobile headquarters on Exhibition Street.
