Tas AWU continues asbestos campaign

The Tasmanian branch of The Australian Workers Union has launched its new information brochure on the campaign for the Prioritised Removal of Asbestos from the State of Tasmania.

The branch Secretary, Ian Wakefield says "the time has come for a completely new approach to dealing with the menace of asbestos in homes and workplaces.

Pain and suffering of victims

" The pain and suffering of asbestos related disease has gone on for far too long.

" Generations of workers to come will not forgive us if we fail to attack this problem head on.

" We believe that we need to remove all asbestos from the state over the next 20 years".

Information brochure

The branch has produced an information brochure that outlines the strategy to start removing asbestos and stop asbestos related disease once and for all.
