Union Aid Abroad - APHEDA are proud to launch a new campaign aiming to link Australian teachers with their primary school teacher counterparts in Southern Laos. This year, Union Aid Abroad - APHEDA has partnered with the Pakse Teacher Training College to give teachers in Laos the much needed support to provide 'quality' education. This college covers four provinces in the South of the country, far away from the national capital, Vientiane. Each year, over 3000 students go through the one year course, and are then sent out into rural and remote areas. Often the adults in the remote areas also rely on the teachers, as they are likely to be one of the few functionally literate people there. Teacher2Teacher will provide teachers a resource kit to improve the quality of education in Laos. But physical resources are not enough and the program will also develop a mentoring and support system for teachers sent into far flung rural locations. To help us make this partnership with Pakse Teacher Training College successful and ongoing, Union Aid Abroad - APHEDA needs your help with a new campaign for Australian Teachers Unions.
