'CEPU-Ziggy must go.'

Date: 04 March 2003

The CEPU is set to launch a shareholder wide campaign calling for Ziggy Switkowski to go. Len Cooper Secretary of the Communications Union (CEPU) says that ' the CEPU has to regularly defend Telstra workers who are being sacked or threatened because they apparently do not meet Telstra's arbitrary performance targets.

CAMPAIGN TELSTRA-ZIGGY MUST GO.

How come the Telstra CEO survives after his pathetic performance?'

The CEPU is going to call on shareholders to demand the CEO's dismissal after the exposure of the squandering of $2.7 billion in company wealth on dubious and unreliable international deals. Nearly 50'000 Telstra and NDC jobs have gone in seven years. How can Switkowski continue to justify his own position?

The CEPU is organising advertising, demonstrations, petitions and leaflets, to mobilise shareholder support for it's campaign. Our slogan will be 'No more job losses in Telstra-except Ziggy's' says Len Cooper
